While New England got trounced by the Storm of Doom that happened this week. Manhattan, not so much. Yet you'd think the sky was falling if you tuned into the cable news.

Yes, we in the DC Metro area do freak out when someone even so much as spits on the road, but at least our crazy hype is mostly a local thing. I'm looking at you Topper Shutt and your crazy Bread-o-meter/carpocalypse thingamabob.

The Republican "leadership" in Congress continues it's approach to governing as a 3-yr old child automatically saying "NO" to anything requested. This has been their modus operandi ever since President Obama was elected; did anyone expect anything different after the last election? In this particular case, the president asked for Congress not to derail the delicate negotiations with Iran over nuclear development by going all bull-in-a-china-shop and enacting further sanctions.

Congress didn't just say NO, they said HELL NO!

Good Morning.

Today is our 222nd day back in Iraq.

There have been no new American casualties in Iraq or Afghanistan.

We find this morning's Cost of War passing through:

$ 1, 599, 150, 575, 000 .00

Surprisingly enough, we'll start from Fox News this morning. It's really only a footnote as far as we're concerned, but the story illustrates that the more things change, the more they stay the same...especially in Saudi Arabia. Remember folks, these are our allies. (Although if true, the perpetrator probably deserved it, but that's a debate for another day.)
