=====================================================

and on with the show!......

Looking for Osama and they found Spitzer. How convenient.
Uninteneed Consquences; From Newsweek:
The Patriot Act gave the FBI new powers to snoop on suspected terrorists. In the fine print were provisions that gave the Treasury Department authority to demand more information from banks about their customers' financial transactions. Congress wanted to help the Feds identify terrorist money launderers. But Treasury went further. [...]

Another element of the formulas: whether an account holder was a "politically exposed person." At first focused on potentially crooked foreign officials, the PEP lists expanded to include many U.S. politicians and public officials who were conceivably vulnerable to corruption.

I wonder how many of these politicians are republican and how many are democrat. We already have discovered that our Department of Justice is tainted. That another Democratic Governor is in jail.... How many other cases do we have like this?

The very idea that we are considering our own people, politicians as PEP's because the Government says so because of the patriot act, is something that seems to be wrought with Corruption. The law was written for one thing, and now it is being used as a dragnet for anything the feds think is suspicious, including politicians.

Remember when cases needed to be built upon evidence and investigation? Well thanks to this administration and those that passed the patriot act, it is no more. Innocent until proven guilty no longer matters. Eliot Spitzer got caught while we were supposed to be finding Osama Bin Laden.

And... if you think for one minute the president is telling you the truth that the NSA only spies on foreigners, and only to get the terra-ists™I have a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn. Those wiretaps will eventually, if they have not already been so, used to dragnet regular Americans. We are no longer innocent until proven guilty. Eliot Spitzer now knows all too well.

Saint Patrick drove the snakes out of Ireland. It is time we Americans drove our own snakes out of Washington.
:peace: and
Raine O' Martinio ;)

Might I suggest creating a blog entry for this so that the info is easier to find in the future? We could also use it to comment on the progress of the teams and who was "winning"...

:( Abba Drummer found dead in Spain File this one under undignified deaths:
A former member of the Swedish pop group Abba has been found dead at his home in Spain.

Ola Brunkert, a drummer who played on all the band's albums, is believed to have bled to death from a throat wound after crashing through a glass door or window.

The 62-year-old managed to walk outside to seek help but died in his garden, according to police sources on the island of island of Mallorca. There is no suggestion of foul play.

We seem to time and time again allow for this kind of behaviour from well, republicans it seems and well, I think you know what I mean. This is just bullshit that Vitter and Craig are still in office. Bullsite! HARUMPH!

Ok - I have personal news this morning.

Two years ago I was very excited that mom got what we thought was a great job at a contracting office with really good pay. She's been going a great job for those two years for want turns out is a psycho boss. This woman throws things, slams stuff around including her door, makes snotty comments within earshot of the person she's trying to cut down and generally over the last month has been nitpicking mom to the point she is a ball of stress, second guessing everything she does and we even drove out her office on sunday to triple check something she did on friday.

We talked about it all weekend and the whole situation has been nothing but stressing the whole house out for about month. Which is why I haven't been really talkative the last week.

Anyway - this morning mom gave her two weeks notice. She has no fall back for a job, this is probably one of the biggest risks she's ever taken. So I'm hoping everyong will keep us in their prayers or good wishes for her to find a good job with good people.

Oh - and I'm still going to the DC thing in April! :)

Comment by starling310 on 03/17/2008 13:53:31
Slavery ended? But, Laura Ingrahm just said that I, as a woman, should marry a man and do ANYTHING he wants. . .

Oh, that wouldn't count? Or. . .

:star:ling understands that the analogy isn't precise, but. . .

I guess it's better in DC than in New York. I have seen that apparently WUSA seems to always be looking for people.

Ya, neither of us has ever come across that before. It was to the point I thought she could have a heart attack or stroke plus her smoking had doubled since this all started happening.

There is something better out there and it's a little scary to make this jump but I think we're going to be okay.

Morning all! Love the green. I'll be in lurk mode today (sorry I seem to be doing that lately - but I have a big landscaping project and rocks being delivered today).

Anywho -Shane-O: I'll be skipping the Basketball thingy- but if'n you have one for BASEBALL - count Velveeta IN!!

Mala - So sorry to read about your Mom's troubles with her boss. Does the boss have a boss over her? If so, then your Mom should really go and talk with that boss -IMO. I wish her (and you) all the best, it is tough out there.

OMG!!! I really wish my Condo Association would inform me AHEAD OF TIME, when worker men, are going to be walking around on my roof!!!!! I have windows up there into my bedroom. It just feels invasive.

Mala...sorry about your mum. Sounds like she is making the decision that will be better for her health, so I hope it'll work out.

Ideally that would be the thing to do. First off Mom hates comfrontation. Second the person over her boss is her VP hubby, so she didn't feel like she had anywhere to go.

Her husband is one of the company's VP's. Plus she is good friends with one of the other VP's. She would have stayed if it weren't for this woman who wasn't willing to train mom in the job she was hired to do and put an incredible amount of stress on her.
