In normal times, my essay after a SOTU would be to break down what was said, and what happened during the speech, and commentary on the other party's response. However, this year I just couldn't watch it. I can't stand to see or hear him talk. I'll pass along some media takes on it, though...

On Friday we witnessed the bullying that was heard throughout the world. It was shocking, infuriating and sad. We have gone around the bend in this country. I don't know when we'll get it back. Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett has something to say on social media.

Wednesday was the first time I'd been to Target to pick up a handful of essentials. I had not shop there since before Christmas. It was a bit of a shock, to be honest. The parking lot which is always full, even on a weekday afternoon, was only about 1/4th occupied. There weren't family's rolling out with over loaded carts. It was so sparse.

It was the first time I'd actually seen the effects of a companies stupid choices have consequences.

Today there is there US Economic Blackout. This is just a reminder of the power we can have when we all work to fight fascism,
