A New Day

I am writing this Tuesday night, since I have a doctor appt this morning at 8:30. As of right now, I have no idea who won the race. We may not know for certain for several days (remember 2020?). I am trying to remain optimistic, but I recall how optimistic we were in 2016. That was a gut-punch I hope we are not going to have to re-live.

We are now 5 days away from Election Day. As one might expect from the Garbage Camp, they (and the PACs who act on his behest) are pulling out all the dirty tricks, lies, and intimidation they can think of to thwart the Will of the People. Whether it's via legislation, executive action, advertisements, or voter fraud and intimidation, they'll do whatever they can in their venal quest for power.

About last night

As you may know by now, we went to a Kamala Harris event last night. It was wonderful, diverse, and joyful. What I wasn't aware of was that the crowds went all the way back on the National Mall to the Jefferson Memorial. The campaign and other sources said that about 75 thousand people were in attendance. The park service had issued a permit for 20,000 people.
it's fair to say it was a big deal.

As you know my Mom died last month. There was one thing that I did not tell her. It was that I had abortions. She never asked so I never told. If she had asked, I would have. Both of my sisters got pregnant without being married. To both of them, I made sure they knew they had a choice and that I would support them however they chose.
