Yes We Can
Author: Raine    Date: 12/31/2018 14:00:02

The last day of the year has finally arrived. I am not sure what to expect going into the final year of this decade, but I know that getting through this one was challenging.

I'm not all that good at making lists of milestones, best/worst or really anything of that sort. I know that this year was literally challenging on a political front every single day. I don't have faith that those challenges will change going into the third year that we all live under the thumb of this administration.

It's still abnormal, unacceptable and deeply disturbing. It's probably gotten more chaos-filled these past twelve months. We've got Kim Jun UN, Kanye, and the Boofer installed on the Supreme court; A practically all 'Acting-Officials in the administration; Porn Stars and Russian honeypots and countless other scandals that should have resulted with the occupant of the office resigning in disgrace and every time someone says we've hit rock bottom, Rock Bottom says hold my beer!.

Here we are, years after this awfulness was forced upon us, I still maintain, this cannot sustain. We saw the beginning of the change with a record-breaking election day. We can get through this but only together. A wise man once said: "Yes We Can".

That same man also said: “Hope is that thing inside us that insists, despite all the evidence to the contrary, that something better awaits us if we have the courage to reach for it and to work for it and to fight for it.”

Insist, Resist, Persist.

Good morning, bloggers!!!

I hope that everyone is well. I will be going out with friends later.

Here is the CNN story on Senator Warren setting up an exploratory committee. I expect others will start their own exploratory committees soon.

Also, it is New Year's already in parts of the world. (Sydney, Australia had to cope with storms for their celebration.) So, Happy New Year!!!! Let us make the most of 2019!!

Is it because you might lose a senator or that Senator Warren has been lacking. I do think that we will see some good candidates and honest debates on the issues. So, let us hope for a truly great candidate for the Democratic Party to head the ticket in 2020.

I really like her and she'd be amazing and all, but really think we need her in the Senate.

That is one of my concerns about anyone in Congress. Even if a state is safely blue, we could still lose a remarkable man or woman to head the ticket.

As I recall, TriSec, Governor Brown of Massachusetts is a Republican.

That's Charlie Baker, and yes he is a Republican. Mitt Romney's Secretary of Health and Human Services, and author of RomneyCare. His letter may say "R", but he's the rarest of the rare - a moderate, liberal, Republican that can get elected in a Democratic State.

I'm pretty nuetral about Warren, I wanna see how this all shakes out, TBH -- I think her voice and the discussion is an important one to have.

I can't wait for her to teach the shiny newbies her skills. Add it to theirs and the future can be amazing!

Damn it! No Three Stooges marathon this year. Even WSBK has stopped doing it this year. Locally we will still have the dueling Honeymooners and Odd Couple marathons.
