Ain't nothing but a grift.
Author: Raine    Date: 01/09/2019 14:06:18

I actually went to sleep very early yesterday as the exhaustion of the holidays, this administration, and other factors crept up on me. I actually slept a solid 10.5 hours! Anyway, I digress.

I was of mixed feeling about any of the networks airing his little word salad. It's the Office of the President after all. That said - he's not a legitimate president.

When I woke up this morning, Jot Reid posted this image. (note the time)

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Dwb70ahWkAI9hj5.jpg

He used the Oval Office office as a campaign event. I had suspected this was what would happen and I sadly was not let down. Nothing new was said, nothing new was proposed. Federal workers are still not getting paid. Federal loans are not being approved. Small businesses are suffering. Some will shutter forever.

The country is being held hostage by a tyrannical lunatic who is having a temper tantrum over a situation created in his mind that his followers want to believe. The media - again - fell for the antics of that greedy, grifting carnival barker. I'm with Erik Wimple of WaPo.

And Post fact-checkers dinged Trump for mis-portraying migrant children brought into the United States.

This fact-checking fervor overtook broadcast and cable TV channels as well as other media — just as predicted. Trump faced a choice when it came to his agenda on Tuesday night: Either stick to appropriately contextualized facts, or stir up paranoia about a border crisis. He couldn’t do both at the same time.

Now it’s up to the country’s media to clean up the mess.

I'm also with Senator Hirono on this.
On Tuesday, frustrated at the piddling, dilatory response to the charges against Kavanaugh, Hirono said this:

“Guess who’s perpetuating all of these kinds of actions? It’s the men in this country. I just want to say to the men in this country: Just shut up and step up. Do the right thing for a change.”

Then, on Thursday, responding to Republican assertions that they were doing all they could to accommodate Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, and that they were taking her charges seriously, Hirono said this to ABC News:

“We’re not consulted at all. I would like to have us come together and figure out what is the best way to proceed. Not this seat of the pants stuff, and the latest being a letter from the chairman to the Democrats saying we have done everything we can to contact her—that is such bullshit I can hardly stand it."

and

Raine

I don't dislike Schumer but I have a hard time with how he presents himself wrt to Dotus.

That image is pretty funny.

Mornin' all..

Not sure why people are criticizing Schumer for anything, considering the act he & Pelosi had to follow.

That's true, I wasn't necessarily criticizing him, per say. I find him to be a little bit patronizing, somehow, It's hard to describe.

He's literally threatening the lives of American citizens now, openly and without reservation.

I hate to even suggest this, but at what point does the military step in because he's become a clear & present danger to the United States?

One thing that has me sorta surprised.

He still hasn't gone to Maralago.

I wonder if his mental condition is in further decline? It seems like he's largely locking himself in the White House watching Fox News.

And for him to be fact checked by Sheppard Smith when Hannity is supposed to be on.

Right now it would look really bad if he did though. He is probably hating life being stuck in DC in the winter on a couple of weekends

From Shannyn Moore on FB: "What kind of dipshit paints himself into a corner while in an oval shaped office? That’s a commitment to stupid."

Not being snarky, when did he ever care about optics?

See the way I am seeing, I understood him staying at the WH over the holidays. Now, with the Dems in the house, specifically after the 3rd, I am really surprised he hasn't said this is all on the Dems, I am going to Florida.

and he hasn't...

Something is pretty strange about this -- you could be correct.

I am glad you can understand what I said, I didn't communicate that very well.

I keep expecting the Choppers to fly over the house.

Let's make this very very clear, none of these GOP'rs are trying to open government.
NOT ONE.

The Dems have put a solution on the table: open government and we can talk about border security.

Not only that, but they've offered at LEAST three compromises on border funding and that doesn't include trading increased funding for permanent DACA fixes.

There's only one party here that's refusing to even compromise, and that's

The Republican version of compromise is always "do as we say or else".
