So I guess the biggest news in pop culture this week is that Stephen Colbert is going to be taking over Letterman's chair in 2015.



That's quite a coup really, not the bloody violent kind, you know the peaceful one. I mean it certainly wasn't the underhanded way in which Leno stole the Tonight Show from Letterman. But I digress.

I have enjoyed Letterman's unsettling, slightly ill tempered, very awkward interview style since college. In fact, my best friend in college had a total crush on Letterman so it was kind of required viewing so we could discuss it the next day. Some of my fave shows were when George Carlin visited Dave.

I'm gonna miss Dave.

I'm not 100% sure about Colbert. I really do wish him well with this adventure. I have to wonder however, how many people are going to be tuning in thinking they are going to be seeing the satirical show they know and love but instead get the real Stephen Colbert, comedian.

Well we have a year to see this transition. I hope its a smooth one.
