Power to the People
Author: BobR    Date: 05/13/2015 14:07:36

Energy has always been Big Business. From the wildcatters to the electrical companies that sprouted up after Edison brought light into the darkness, to refrigeration and central heat and the comfort it brings... wherever there was a demand for energy, there were businesses that became rich delivering that energy. As has always been the case, wealth brings power - a different kind of power - the kind that can influence elections, and thus legislation that affects the energy industry.

Author: velveeta jones    Date: 05/10/2015 13:44:26

Dear Readers, today Velveeta is taking nominations for names of the soon-to-be new states that were formerly called Texas and Utah. As you know, Obama has sent the military in to take over these two states, as well as parts of Colorado, California and Nevada via a plan called Jade Helm 15.

Hurry-cane!
Author: TriSec    Date: 05/09/2015 10:45:58

Good Morning.

Sure getting an odd stretch of weather around here. Yesterday, I drove 42 miles from Central Massachusetts (Worcester) to Metrowest Boston (Waltham). I started out in beating sun, warm winds, and temperatures well above 80. Somewhere amid the moderate hills of Lincoln, I drove into Antarctica, and the temperature fell almost 30 degrees, reaching 57 before I reached my driveway.

It's a twisted sinister plan, alright.
Author: Raine    Date: 05/07/2015 13:04:49

Today there is literally nothing I feel I can write about without sounding repetitive.

A bunch of people actually believe that the federal government is going to take over Texas and politicians are pretending to take them seriously. A woman gives a bunch of people crayons to mock a religion and is proclaiming herself a victim

The Mess that is Texas
Author: BobR    Date: 05/06/2015 13:42:24

The phrase that Texans like to use is "don't mess with Texas". You could point to their record of executions as evidence that they really mean it. Other than being a happy friendly threat, it ignores the reality that Texas is already a mess. Florida may have Florida Man, but Texas has... well... a plethora of idiots and paranoids.

What got Texas in the news recently was a so-called "Free Speech" event, which was actually a contest to draw the Islamic prophet Mohammed. Let's face it - that is just stupid, antagonistic, and lacking in common decency. It was a dare to extremists to do something, and two idiots took the bait. The media (and not just the right-wing FOX "News") immediately began looking for a terrorism connection. ISIS - ever the opportunists - decided to take responsibility. Naturally, FOX "News" was all over that like flies at a shit picnic. The pant-soilers immediately took this as evidence that Sharia Law is imminent in the U.S.
