Mornin' all..

That scumbag Ariel Castro lobbied to avoid the death penalty, then killed himself? He got off far too easy and cowardly. He deserved exactly what he did to those women - slow, methodical torture and pain for decades.

Mala, I was doing the why on a more rhetorical level. I think slashfic is just oogy. It says more about the writer than anything else. Ick. We don't want to know.

Imagine you were called to a meeting at your job, knowing full well your opinion on the subject would not change and decided to play angry birds --- I'd say that your continued employment might be slightly less secure.

This pisses me off to no end. We are talking life and death stuff here and he's playing online poker In a SENATE HEARING. We are talking about thousands of lives -- and his excuse is that he was bored. That is appalling.

I guess we should be grateful that he decided to show up at all -- unlike his noticeable absence at the benghazi briefings.

The House is on vacation more often than they are in session... McCain playing video games during a life-and-death Senate hearing... The country deserves better than these slackers.

both, either, anything - we're having a "Beer Fest" as a promotion for accounts at the office and I have to do decorations. And now since the big boss has kinda nixed my original idea of brown and the bavarian checks for Oktoberfest I have to start over

And he was yellow and red - its going to look like friggin McDonalds!

yes - you can get the loose grains inside the glasses from a homebrew shop, just not the "fronds". The grains come in 1 lb bags.

Here's a list of shops to find the one most convenient for you.

I've been reading this book called Subersives:The FBI's War on Student Radicals and Reagan's Rise to Power. Reagan is so much more of massive douchebag than I thought before I started reading the book. His level of douchebaggery was just amazing and breath-taking. He might be the most despicable human to ever be president. Example: St Ronnie was an FBI informant ratting out fellow actors while he was president of the Screen Actors Guild.

I went and watched a documentary about Marty Glickman -- What an amazing human being.

I learned that Avery Brundage was a massive nazi apologist --

And that Marty Glickman was instrumental in the Launch of HBO in 1972 -- it was originally a cable sports network.

If you ever come across 'Glickman" I highly recommend it -- I am sure Livin' knows about him.

Chafee said he believes he would have won if he stayed in the race. The governor said he would not run next year because he wants to devote his time to governing. He has struggled with poor approval ratings and is a reluctant fundraiser.

"Being smart is more important" than being competitive, he said at the news conference.

Basically he's sacrificing politics for governance. Typical Lincoln Chafee.

What freaks me out is not that he's not running again, but who is. Our state treasurer is the lead candidate - she sold out the state workers' pensions to Wall Street under the guise of a fiscal crisis. The mayor of Providence is also gearing up a run - he's alright but I'm not sure he can overcome the fundraising gap.

Personally I want the Lt. Governor to run. She's FANTASTIC.

I know more about Charles Dolan's role in launching HBO before he left (or was forced out of) Manhattan Cable to launch the first Cablevision system in Nassau County. The first program telecast on HBO was a NY Rangers-Vancouver Canucks Hockey game.

Seriously, Liv -- if you have HBO try pulling up this documentary. Glickman was a great film.

He was basically all the sports programming in the early years.
