This blog has existed for 9 years. In those 9 years we have seen 2 Presidents and soon -- a third. We are now in very interesting times.
This is our Mission Statement:
Our rules still apply, but I felt a need to revisit what our core mission is. Even though we have long lost our message forum, those rules apply as well.
As long as BobR, TriSec and Raine (myself) administrate this blog, this will remain a safe place. I say this with seriousness and with a welcome hand to anyone who seeks a place for discussion about our current political, social and global issues in regard to the incoming administration. We may not be the biggest place on the internet but we will strive to make sure we are safe. I wish I didn't feel a need to point this out, but here we are, and we all know who and what the President Elect is.
Four Freedoms Blog has always sought to be a safe place. It will remain so.

• The fourth is freedom from fear--which, translated into internet terms, means a forum-wide reduction of trolling, ad hominem attacks, and personal insults to such a point and in such a thorough fashion that no member will be in a position to commit an act of internet aggression against any member--anywhere on this blog.

President Elect is suing DC -- again. This time it gets scary.
Trump’s lawyers say that the this year’s $1.7 million tax bill was too high because for part of the year the hotel was still under construction. Also, the city claims that the lease for the property – which Trump Post Office LLC rents from the U.S. General Services Administration – is worth $91 million. The Trumps say it is only worth $28 million.

Soon this will be much less of a headache for Trump. As president he will be able to appoint the head of the General Services Administration, and that appointee will be negotiating future leases for the property with the new heads of Trump’s companies: his children.

They can't even get the meeting with State, Homeland security etc., planned.
This is a shitshow. A real shitshow. This is the kind of thing you lay a ground work for BEFORE the election.

You know it's kinda interesting. Given the disarray that his transition team is in right now, a good number of Obama's appointees could stay in place pending a replacement being confirmed. That opens the door for a stonewalling of Trump's policies for a while.
Or, they could all just leave and watch what happens when no one's around to do the work.
