After a fun few days in Minneapolis, we are home.

The morning we left, there was a shooting n our neighborhood. The next day, there was a terrible fire in a London building. Then there was a lot of noise.

We came home to yet anther attack in London and closer to home, a 17 year old woman was killed walking to her Mosque in Fairfax County.

Also today, there is news from Russia. Any Unites States plane caught flying west of the Euphrates River in Syria will be treated as a threat.

So, I am glad to be home, and in light of the exhaustion, I wanted to ask for one of these.

Peace and Love,
Raine

Hi all!

Chuck took off right quick after the plane landed.

That was weird, I gotta tell you. It's normal to see congress critters at National -- but not Minneapolis!

US Solicitor General has reversed position on a landmark NLRB case that is pending argument before the SCOTUS

If I'm reading this right, then the SG and the company's positions are now the same - both want a ruling in the company's favor, and also a reversal of stare decisis on another NLRB-related ruling made a few years ago.

Busy day at the SCOTUS:

Matal v. Tam: Affirmed denial of trademark registration for the band name "The Slants". I remember reading the one of the amicus briefs in favor for this one.

Bristol Myers Squibb v. California: Non-CA residents have no standing to sue a company through California courts even if CA residents are also affected.

McWilliams v. Dunn: Defendant/Death row inmate access to a mental health professional is guaranteed as part of his legal defense/exoneration team independent of prosecution/corrections.

Packingham v. NC: States cannot limits access of registered sex offenders to post on social media (1A)

Ziglar v. Abbasi: Treatment & deportation of illegal aliens detained after 9/11. Part reversal and affirmation. This decision is kinda complex I don't really understand it that well. The decision had also been delayed several times since it had been orally argued, so it's a 4-2 decision without Gorsuch, Kagan and Sotomayor.

I worry that we are hanging too much on the Ossof election.

The crazy Milwaukee sheriff Clarke has withdrawn himself from the Homeland Security. It's becoming like nobody wants that turd of the Trump ship..
