Dennison of Thieves
Author: Raine    Date: 05/23/2018 13:12:08

On May 8, The New Yorker writer David Campos wrote a piece on his theory billionaire Elliott Broidy paid hush money for an abortion after he allegedly had an affair with a Playboy Model. From the May 8 article:
We should consider the strong possibility that the same tactic — i.e., shameless, baldfaced lying — may have played a role in the exposure of yet another Trump-related sex scandal. The Wall Street Journal published a story on April 13 revealing the existence of another nondisclosure agreement involving an affair between an adult entertainer and a client of Cohen’s. The NDA employed the pseudonyms David Dennison and Peggy Peterson — the same names used in the Stormy Daniels NDA — and was otherwise very similar to the Trump-Daniels agreement.

According to this newly revealed NDA, Dennison agreed to pay Peterson $1.6 million, in exchange for Peterson’s promise not to reveal the affair or her claim that Dennison had impregnated her. This NDA, like the Trump-Daniels document, was negotiated by attorneys Keith Davidson, on behalf of Peterson, and Michael Cohen, on behalf of Dennison. Payments were also delivered through Essential Consultants LLC, the same LLC created by Cohen to facilitate payments in the Stormy Daniels deal.

Whatever source revealed the existence of this NDA to the Journal also disclosed that, according to another document in Cohen’s office, the Dennison in this agreement was not Donald Trump but rather Elliott Broidy, a top Republican fundraiser, while Peterson was Shera Bechard, Playboy’s Miss November 2010. Apparently, Bechard had been Broidy’s mistress until he got her pregnant, at which point she hired Davidson, who contacted Cohen to demand the payment of hush money.

Fast forward to Monday, when the AP published a story about Broidy and a huge contract he was awarded.
After a year spent carefully cultivating two princes from the Arabian Peninsula, Elliott Broidy, a top fundraiser for President Donald Trump, thought he was finally close to nailing more than $1 billion in business.

He had ingratiated himself with crown princes from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, who were seeking to alter U.S. foreign policy and punish Qatar, an arch-rival in the Gulf that he dubbed “the snake.”
That story would have been front page news under any other administration, but it has barely made a blip on the radar. I would have forgotten about it had I not shared it in our TUTN production chat. It was this very story that caught the eye of David Campos and he wrote a follow-up piece to his 'Theory Article'. It's amazing.

Trump would not get back to the White House until 4:45 p.m., but he still found time in his busy schedule that day for one more meeting. That get-together was with a wealthy Republican fundraiser and lobbyist, Elliott Broidy. Broidy, who had been convicted in 2009 of bribing public officials, had spent all of 2017 investing enormous amounts of time and money to acquire what his business partner George Nader termed “this priceless asset” — a private meeting with the president of the United States.

(snip)

Here is some additional context that now seems especially noteworthy: Just two days before that meeting, on November 30, Broidy wired $200,000 from his Bank of America account to Real Estate Attorneys’ Group, a California firm. On December 5, REAG transferred that money to attorney Keith Davidson. Davidson was at the time supposedly representing the legal interests of Shera Bechard, a Playboy model with whom Broidy now claims to have had an affair. (Bechard fired Davidson shortly afterward, when she became convinced that Davidson was actually working in concert with Michael Cohen, Donald Trump’s personal attorney, to protect Cohen’s client’s interests rather than hers.) That $200,000 was supposed to be the first of eight quarterly payments that “David Dennison” agreed to make to Bechard, in order to buy her silence about an affair and a subsequent abortion. All this was laid out in an NDA recovered from Michael Cohen’s office when it was raided last month.

(snip)

The AP exposé only strengthens the evidence for my hypothesis: The first payment from Broidy came two days before the meeting that apparently helped him ink a nine-figure deal with a foreign country — a deal based in no small part on his access to, and influence on, Trump. If it’s difficult to imagine Broidy being willing to take the fall for Trump’s affair with Bechard and then paying her a seven-figure sum, it’s much simpler to imagine it simply as a perfectly timed and fantastically profitable bribe.

It’s also important to keep in mind that the only hard evidence for Broidy’s claim that his payoff to Bechard wasn’t actually a straight-up bribe of the president of the United States continues to be Broidy’s own assertions. (My repeated attempts to get Bechard’s current attorney, Peter Stris, to comment on this matter have been unsuccessful.) Journalists — including those AP reporters who pulled together such a remarkable and important story — might want to be cautious about taking Broidy’s word on the matter at face value.
It's looking more and more like Broidy took the fall for tRump because he got his UAE contract.

I've long said that eventually, we would find that it wasn't just affairs and payoffs. it would include abortion and other things, but this part of the story is about as dirty as it gets. Someone known to Bribe people -- and convicted for it -- invested a lot of money to help the pResident get elected is disgusting. It makes quid pro quo look nice. This seems to be so common that Cohen couldn't bother to change the pseudonyms in the NDA's.

And Now tRump is using his affairs to help make his political supporters (and himself) rich. I haven't even gotten to Cohen's business partner, The Taxi King.

It only Wednesday!

and

Raine

So, I didn't get the job I interviewed for yesterday, which, despite what they told me, was an ideal match for my skill set. The work was really interesting sounding too, analyzing social media posts for the company's client, the NDA I signed prevents me from saying the name, so let's just call it Countenance Tome

How did you find out so soon?

and I am sorry to learn of this, Mondo.

They need to hire a shite ton of people by the end of the year, so they make offers right after the interviews were completed or tell you to hit the bricks. I am reapplying.

Morning, comrades. Another fine day ‘waiting’. Trolley parked out of the way near the Back Bay. Will probably cover lunches and hotel shuttles this afternoon.

Cohen is not registered as a foreign agent. This is a big f*cking deal.

The meeting at the White House was last June.

Shortly after the Ukrainian president returned home, his country's anti-corruption agency stopped its investigation into Trump's former campaign manager, Paul Manafort.

A high-ranking Ukrainian intelligence officer in Poroshenko's administration described what happened before the visit to the White House.

Cohen was brought in, he said, because Ukraine's registered lobbyists and embassy in Washington DC could get Poroshenko little more than a brief photo-op with Trump. Poroshenko needed something that could be portrayed as "talks".

I seriously doubt this will stand up to arbitration or a court of law.

I like the sport, not the owners, BTW.

Let's give it up for the NFLPA, the collective bargaining unit for the players. Who. really should have been in the loop before management made a decision that would impact the workers.
