As you may have seen, we spent the weekend in NYC. We went to the Met, the Brooklyn Museum of Art and The Cloisters. While I stayed a bit in tune with the happenings back in DC, I was largely unconnected from politics and very connected to the arts, and the company of our hosts, and dear friends. In all my years living in New York, I'd never gotten to the Cloisters. The story behind it is amazing
It was food for the soul. It also puts things into perspective. For thousands of years, countries have been ruled with both dictators and philanthropic leaders. It's almost a human cycle. We are blessed to have the right to say we are citizens of this Nation.
Anyway, when you need to breathe, go, find, and visit beauty.
Giving him the benefit of the doubt (although I have no good reason to), it could just be they show he's not worth much, and he doesn't want that embarrassment.

Remember when the gun-nuts were building bunkers, stocked with guns and ammo because "Obama is coming for your guns!"
It's been Easter weekend, but I feel like I've been holed up in MY bunker all weekend. Fortunately, it's full of good gin, holiday meals, baked goods, and some family to share it all with.
Alas, back out into the cruel city again tomorrow.
