Good Morning.

Boston is slowly opening for business.

This past week, we entered "Phase 3", which allowed for dining inside, museums and gyms to open, and some limited tours. Of course, the Duck Tours got all the headlines.

For the first time since November, the Boston duck tour boats will be out again Monday as part of the Phase 3 of the reopening in Boston.

“We’re so excited to get back out there," said Tad McKitterick of Boston Duck Tours. "I think our role has always been to kind of celebrate the city that we’re so proud of and we can’t wait to be an attraction that will bring people into town to support other businesses.”

McKitterick says they are allowed 50-percent capacity on the amphibious vehicles, but they’ll reduce that even more.

“We’re limiting our capacity more than was mandated. Not only are we practicing social distancing on the vehicles, but also requiring all our guests and employees to wear masks,” he said. "People will also be spread apart, every other row without people sitting directly across from each other."

As part of Phase 3 in Boston, museums and the aquarium will also open. Gyms and movie theaters can open, too.

Old Town Trolley tours are part of that too. We opened Monday at 50% capacity, and well-defined and highly public and visible daily cleaning procedures.

But as I observed recently, just because you're back in business doesn't mean people want to buy what you have for sale I drove for the first time on Wednesday, and carried about 15 people on two tours. Driving a full day yesterday, I carried a whopping 10 people all day on three and a half tours.

There are positives - the few people that have ridden tours with us have been "fully compliant". Part of our opening requires masks for all while on board, myself included. Guests are told this up-front, and we won't even sell them a ticket if they're not wearing a mask. Once they're on board, I can literally pull to the curb and throw them off if that mask comes off, so it's all been good.

Boston remains holding steady (the top graph is the one you want to look at). It's anybody's guess if the trend holds steady, or if it starts to reverse - only time will tell.

I hope that Boston continues to hold steady.

In Northwest Indiana, we are holding at stage 4.5 -- we do have indoor dining with social distancing. I worry that we are going to fall back into more severe restrictions.

Congressman John Lewis, a giant of the Civil Rights Movement, has passed at age 80.

May his memory be for a blessing. May his legacy continue to inspire others to pursue justice.

As a young man, John Lewis thought of becoming a preacher. Perhaps this verse from the prophet Micah summed up how he lived his life: "And what does the LORD require of you but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?" Certainly, John Lewis sought to do these things. This world is better for him living in it and striving to do all these things.
