Shutting it down

Hi everyone. I know Columbus Day is increasingly divisive these days, but I'm still partially Italian...so we've still got some stuff going on. It's also closing weekend on the pond for our kayak season, so I'm off to the water in a bit. At least the weather will be good!

But before I head out...I’m sorry to have to drag you into this today. For weeks now, Bob, Raine, and I have been arguing behind the scenes about the future of this blog. You're well aware that this place is overrun by liberals, and the writings and policy choices made and supported by *the majority* have ruled the day since the very first blog posted.

I recently decided that I want to go in another direction. Four Freedoms is great, but I think it should be transformed into a misogynist, dystopian paradise. Of course, I'd reserve all the profits to me, but Bob and Raine would be entitled to 1 or 2 %. (I'd get the other 99-percent, see what I just did there?)

But this has been bogged down in policy. I just don't like what they're doing, and I have actually been opposed to the entire concept of Four Freedoms since the very beginning. (The fact that *I* wrote the mission statement has nothing to do with it - because Bob and Raine wholeheartedly support it, I must now oppose it.)

So, I think there is really only one course of action. Starting today, I'm closing down the blog. That's it. Nobody can post here anymore. It's all about me until I get my way.

OK, actually none of that happened. Hell, we haven't even been in our secret moderator lounge in months - I don't think I've ever been more "on the same page" with anyone than the three of us remain. It sure is nice that the rest of you out there don't have to worry about day-to-day operations of the blog. You all know that you can click your bookmark, and no matter what day of the week it is, there will be something there waiting for you.

I don't actually think there is any way to tie together what's happening in DC to an internet example, except maybe this: I didn't get my way at the blog, so I rented a truck from the Koch brothers (no relation) and drove it into the telephone pole outside Bob & Raine's house and knocked out their internet. Then I parked across the road and prevented the service guys from fixing it until they caved in to my demands. Of course, Bob did an end run around me and used his laptop to tap into a neighbor's Wi-Fi so the blog could stay open.

But seriously folks, is this any way to run a country?
