It's often said that the United States is a nation of immigrants. The Statue of Liberty and its attached poem are testaments to that. Unless you are 100% Native American, you or some or all of your ancestors came from a "foreign" country. Our blog diva is 2nd generation German. I have several ancestral lines from the mid 1800s, and others that go back much deeper (1600s). I have ancestors who fought (for the North) in the Civil War, and in WWI.
The current occupant of the White House is 1st generation American on his mother's side, and 2nd generation on his father's side. Considering he is literally the child of immigrants, you'd think he'd have more understanding and empathy for current immigrants. Sadly, we know he has no empathy for
anybody, and cares little for the struggle of anyone who doesn't spend their waking hours praising him. His condemnation of all immigrants (and refugees) from south of the border is well known. He's also stated he doesn't want anyone immigrating from "shithole" countries (translation: non-white).
