Jobs, Justice and Education
Author: Raine    Date: 10/04/2010 12:50:03

That was what it was about. It wasn't about Glenn Beck, and despite what some people are saying, it wasn't the Anti-tea Party. It was a rally to send a message that this nation needs Jobs, Justice and Education. It was a message to all of Washington DC with an extra emphasis on Republicans and other obstructionists that are standing in the way of achieving these goals for our Nation.

There were a LOT of people there, A lot of people coming together to make it clear that we are still looking for change in this nation. We came together to make it clear we still have a long way to go forward.

FORWARD-- Not backwards. Onward and upwards, not downwards. This is the time. Less than a month before the elections this is what me must focus on.

This was an incredibly diverse crowd filled with people of all colors and flavors. People from all walks of life, Unions, Church groups, Civil Rights groups -- It was inclusive.

It was about making sure that on November 2, people get off the couch and away from the computer and go VOTE. We may have issues with our elected officials on the left side of the aisle, but the alternative would be devastating to this nation. That was a very loud and clear message.

Ultimately, I don't give a rat's arse about Glenn beck and his "restoring ya ya" ilk. The media would have you believe this was a pissing match of numbers between two rallies. As HoneyBearKelly pointed out on Saturday -- There have been a lot of rallies on the mall, at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. If we are going to allow one former Zoo Radio DJ to define what the standard is for a rally, we are screwed. I and the other thousands upon thousands of people there are not mere numbers. We were people who came together and realized that despite the media meme that there is an 'enthusiasm gap', the opposite actually seemed to be the case. I believe that if everyone who came to the One Nation Rally on Saturday got one person to vote-- things are going to be fine. It is now in our hands to do the right thing for this Country.

OR -- you can listen to Harry Belefonte and get even more inspired:
