The Spider and the Fly
Author: BobR    Date: 2015-03-25 10:51:00

Spiders are one of natures most magnificent creations. They have 8 eyes and 8 legs and create webs that look beautiful and capture the imagination. Those webs - seductive as they are - are also deadly. Should an insect become ensnared, the spider immobilizes and enwraps the prey, then sucks all the life blood out, leaving behind an empty husk, discarded and forgotten.

It's an apt metaphor for the Ayn Rand inspired economic web woven by the free market scheisters who entice those at the bottom of the economic ladder to vote against their interests. They point to socialism as the demon, while these voters work for sustenance and watch their hard-earned dollars float up to those at the very top.

Dear Senator(s) Cotton, Paul, McCain etc

It has come to our attention while observing your ass-hattery to the President that you might not understand our election system.

Good Morning.

Spring can suck my dick.

Anyway...I was skimming around my usual haunts bookmarking stories for Ask A Vet, I happened to run across 2 stories recently that actually warranted their own 'bonus' blog.

I'll start with this morning's Cost of War for a reference point. Indeed, we find it passing through:

$ 1, 612, 555, 700, 000 .00

From Do-Nothing to Know-Nothing
Author: BobR    Date: 2015-03-18 10:39:54

When was the last time you remembered a Republican statesman? Some might say Reagan... some might say Goldwater... some might say Eisenhower. I would agree with that last one. None of them would stand a chance in today's Republican party. From doing nothing in Congress for the last several years, to acting stupidly, the party faithful must really be feeling despair as they watch presidential hopes disappear every 4 years.

McConnell: No Loretta Lynch confirmation until vote on human trafficking bill
"It's not a threat. We need to finish this human trafficking bill that came out of the Judiciary Committee unanimously . . . because the next week we'll be doing the budget and the next two weeks after that Congress is not in session," McConnell said on CNN's "State of the Union."

The Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act, authored by Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex.), has been stalled after Democrats accused Republicans of sneaking anti-abortion language into the bill. McConnell noted that Democrats on the Judiciary Committee unanimously agreed on the bill before forwarding it.

"They all voted for the very same language in a bill in December," he said.

Senate Democrats say Republicans sneaked the language into authorization measures.
